This is a short Chinese straight sword Jian from the late 19 or early 20 C. The straight blade of flat diamond cross section is 17 inches long with seven round brass inserts (Seven stars). Ribbed wood grip, with engraved brass Mounts. Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard.
