Up for sale is this good Balkan Yataghan, 2nd half of the 19 C., walrus ivory grips with big ears. Finely forged blade decorated with gold koftgari work. Blade is 24 inches long. Gilded filigree copper grip strap set with red stones (Glass ?). Gilded filigree copper bolsters with red colored stone. Total length 27 inches. Good condition. Later solder repairs on the bolsters and on the grip strap. Gilding mostly gone. Few red stones are missing. Grips lightly loose due to age shrink of the ivory. No scabbard.
