This is a classical example of the famous Khyber sword coming from Afghanistan. The heavy massive blade is 23 inches long, 2 inches wide with a pronounced T spine. The bolsters and grips straps are steel. The grips are ribbed horn with good age patina, Original scabbard covered with tooled leather and finely engraved brass chape. The upper part is bound with somewhat later but still old and original colorful fabric strip. Total length 32 1/2 inches. Very good plus condition. Minor losses to the left grip. Like in the classical swords of this type, the blade goes all the way into the scabbard and only the upper part of the handle is exposed. Very impressive sword.
