This saddle axe head is Ottoman, probably Balkan, late 17 to early 18 C. Well forged steel blade with a rectangular socket, very finely inlaid with silver decoration (true inlay). Blade length 3 1/2 inches. Height 6 inches. Very good condition. For a very similar axe, see The Art of the Muslim Knight, item 253, page 263.
