This very fine Shamshir sword is Indian, late 18 to early 19 C. 32 inches blade, single edged, forged from very fine Wootz (watered steel, Damascus), of very homogenous clear high contrast pattern. Steel handle with the pommel shaped like a styled bird head and richly decorated with gold inlay work. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. Very minor losses to the gold. No scabbard.
