This rare shashqa style saber is coming from Central Asia or Afghanistan. Blade 29 1/2 inches, with a shallow fuller just below the spine and a short 1 inch ricasso. Wood grips and silver bolster and grip strap. Total length 35 inches. Good condition. Patches of blackened and lightly pitted areas on the blade. The grips rivet rosettes are later. The attribution to Central Asia and /or Afghanistan is derived from the shape of the handle, very similar to Karud / Pesh Kabz daggers from the same area. A very rare saber / sword
