This heavy sword is Indian, late 18 to early 19 C. The wide and heavy blade is 30 inches long, more than 2 inches wide, with a pronounced T spine and 9 inches raised back edged, reminding in a way the blade of the Ottoman Pala sword. The hilt is whole steel, of unusual grip shape. Original wood scabbard with original leather cover and big finely pierced and chased copper locket and chape. Total length 36 inches. Very good condition. A very impressive sword.
