Up for sale is this interesting variations of the Kattar , the famous Hindu push dagger. This one is known in India as: Jamadhar Sehlikaneh or literally: having three blades. In the western world it is known as Scissors Kattar. When the grip’s cross bars are squeezed together, the outer blade opens to reveal an internal additional blade. This specific item is having the outer split blades of 8 1/2 inches long. The blades as well as the side bars are very delicately decorated with gold and silver koftgari work depicting various animals: Elephants, horses, tigers and antelopes. The inner concealed blade is thickened at the tip. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition.
