Very Good Persian Quadara Sword - 9401

This sword is of Persian origin and it is also known as Quadara. A similar sword is found in central Asian countries and in the Caucasus but sometimes called Qama. This specimen has a 24 inches long single edge blades with a 6 inches false edge. The blade is finely fullered, marked with a deep maker mark and an inscription of Arabic letters in gold and silver inlay. The grips are black Buffalo horn mounted with domed shaped rivets with silver inlay decoration. The rosette of the central rivet is an old Persian (?) silver coin. Original scabbard, covered with black leather and mounted with chased brass mounts. Total length 30 inches. Very good condition. |
