Up for sale is this fine Turkish military saber for use by high ranking officers in the Turkish army, late 19 C. or very early 20 C. Military style blade, 29 1/2 inches long. Beautiful engraved silver handle and cross guard. The wood scabbard is covered with black leather with spiral stitching and fitted with long locket, chape and belt rings all in engraved silver. Total length 36 inches. Very good condition. Blackened areas and minor pitted spots on the blade. Repairs to the scabbard leather and to the spiral stitching. Very impressive sword.
