The ‘Pulwar’ is the Afghan relative of the Indian Tulwar. Both may have similar blades but the Pulwar hilt is of very distinct shape, with down curving quillons. This one has a very heavy well forged fullered blade, ¼ inch thick and 29 inches long, with a 9 1/2 inches raised false edge. The blade is stamped with marks. The hilt is of classical shape with faceted grip and ribbed pommel.. This Pulwar comes with its original scabbard with a faceted steel chape. Very good condition. Lightly re shaped blade tip. Minor damaged and repaired areas on the scabbard. A beautiful real fighting sword.
