From Persia, mid to late 19 C, Pick of art in steel in the Qajar period comes this shield. 15 inches in diameter, finely chiseled with hunting scenes and inscription in Arabic letters and inlaid with koftgari gold work in dense floral decoration. Original back cover and hand cushion. Very good condition. Minor losses to the gold work. The handles are missing. A fine piece.
