The BULLOVA is the traditional fighting axe of the Chota Nagpur aboriginal tribes of central India. It comes in a variety of blade shapes and this one has a heavy forked shape blade, 7 X 7 inches, hand forged. It is mounted on a long dark wood shaft 36 inches long, through its heavy socket with a brass top and lower tip. The upper part of the haft is bound with brass wires, holding a steel strip reinforcing the blade in position. Very good condition. Untouched shining age patina on the blade.
