This long and heavy Yataghan sword is of Turkish origin, late 19 C., with East Turkey / Syrian decoration style. Blade 28 inches with wide belly and heavy T spine. Steel bolsters forged together with the tang. Wood grips with big "Ears". Scabbard with big steel locket and chape. The blade as well as the scabbard mounts are inlaid with silver koftgari work of typical East Turkey / Syrian style. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. Scabbard tip is lightly damaged. A Very impressive and interesting yataghan.
