Up for sale is this fine Yataghan Knife / Bichaq from Bosnia Hertzogovina with the blade dated to 1299 (1881 in the Gregorian calendar). Typical Yataghan down curving blade 12 1/2 inches long, finely inlaid with gold and silver koftgari work. Bone grips with brass nails and rondels inserts. Steel bolsters and grip strap decorated with silver koftgari decoration. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition. Few grinding scratches on the blade. No scabbard. The attribution to Bosnia Hertzogovina comes mainly from the typical grips decoration and the date, in which period many knives with similar style where produced.
