This very good shield is Indian, early to mid 19 C. 18 inches diameter, heavy steel finely chiseled with floral design and inscription in Arabic letters and decorated with gold and silver koftgari inlay. The shield is set with four bosses with silver koftgari inlay and mounted with a brass strip around the rim. Original inner red fabric. Very good condition. Losses to the silver inlay (The gold inlay is almost intact). Damaged fabric cover of the inner side. Hand cushion , handles and mounting rings are missing.
