Very Good Keris Penjang (Execution) Sword, Sumatra - 9228


A Keris Penjang , also sometimes refered to as Execution Keris from Sumatra. This rare type of Keris was supposedly used to execute criminals. The long narrow blade was inserted above the collarbone of the sitting executed person and pushed down directly into the heart, causing instant death. The blade of this specific Keris is 20 inches long, forged from very fine pamor steel. The hilt is wood. Metal mendak decorated with colored stones (glass ??) Wood scabbard. Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. Few blackened spots on the blade. The corner of the wrongka (cross piece) is lightly damaged.
