We are not sure as to the origin of this short sword / long knife in the style of the famous yataghan swords. We think it is Balkan, 19 C. Down curving blade 13 inches long. Horn grips with unusual pommel shape and brass grip strap and bolsters. Wood scabbard with tooled leather (spiral stitching of seam) with a silver locket (later). Total length 18 1/2 inche. Good condition. Minor damage to the scabbard.
