The Pakayun is the classical sword / saber of the Murut people residing in Northern Kalimantan (Borneo). It has a curved heavy blade, 31 inches long forged from laminated steel and fullered on its entire length. The handle is hardwood with forked pommel, brass plate cross guard and collar and braided rattan cover on the pommel. The scabbard is wood carved with geometric design and bound with iron bands. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. A rare sword.
