A very fine ‘KARUD’ (the common name for a ‘Pesh-Kabz’ with straight blade). from North India or Afghanistan origin. A very fine high contrast Persian wootz blade 9 1/2 inches long with a central rib, acute point and reinforced T spine. The grips are Dark green jade ( or Jadeite) and steel grip strap and bolsters. The scabbard is wood covered with blak leather and mounted with silver tip. Total length (in scabbard) 14 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Scabbard leather and tip are restored. A very high quality item for the advanced collector.
