This Persian Shamshir is a fine quality sword The blade is 30 inches long, narrow, single edge and finely fullered. It is forged from good Wootz (Damascus) steel with pattern of medium contrast, marked with gold inlay work and engraved with the owner name on the spine. The grips are bone and the cross guard, grip strap and pommel cap of steel. Leather covered scabbard with a gold decorated belt suspension ring (one) and scabbard chape. Total length 35 1/2 inches. Very good condition. The grips and pommel cap are restored. The upper suspension ring is a replacement. The leather of the scabbard is partially restored. A very nice sword.
