Very Fine 19 C. Persian Qajar Revival Sword. - 9145


We offer for sale this very fine and beautiful 19 Century Persian straight sword also known as Revival sword, as it was reviving the use of old 15 C style Islamic straight swords. This beautiful blade is 39 inches long, 2 inches wide at the top, and although thin is very solid and both edges are very sharp. The blade is finely and elaborately chiseled panels on its two faces in the typical Qajar style: birds on a dense floral background. The hilt is steel, with down curving quillons, decorated with silver koftgary work. This sword comes with its original scabbard, covered with black leather, spirally stitched and mounted with finely chased white metal mounts. Total length 39 inches. Next to perfect condition. This is quite rare to find such a complete sword in such an excellent condition.
