This shield is coming from Rajhastan, India 18 C or a bit later. Almost translucent and made from the hide of a rhino, 22 inches diameter, decorated with four big faceted rock crystal (??) domes set in gilded brass bosses. Very good condition. Inner cushion missing. Minor scratches on the crystal domes and losses to the gilding. Few later holes drilled around the shield perimeter, most probably for hanging purposes. Very nice and scarce item.
