A very fine ‘KARUD’ (the common name for a ‘Pesh-Kabz’ with straight blade). from North India or Afghanistan origin. A very fine wootz blade 12 inches long with acute point and reinforced T spine. The grips are elephant ivory with good age patina. The grip strap and bolsters are steel. The scabbard is wood covered with pale green velvet and mounted with engraved gilded copper fittings. Total length (in scabbard) 19 1/2 inches. Very good condition. The gilding of the scabbard mounts is mostly gone. A very high quality item for the advanced collector.
