Up for sale is this very fine and early Koumaya Dagger from Morocco, dated to 1314 ( 1896 in the Gregorian calendar). Classical blade, 9 1/2 inches long, double edged at its lower half and single edged at the top. The handle is carved from a single massive piece of Rhino horn with a very clear fibrous structure. Chased silver grip collar. Wood scabbard covered with green velvet and mounted with chased silver locket and chape marked with silver proof mark (one dated to 1314). Total length 15 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor pitted spots at the center of the blade.
