The Pulwar’ is the Afghan relative of the Indian Tulwar. The Pulwar hilt has a very distinct shape, with down curving quillons. The one offered here for sale is a fine heavy fighting sword, with well forged steel blade, 30 inches long, well fullered with a 9 inches raised back edge. The steel handle is of typical quilon shape but with a ball shaped beautifully ribbed pommel (scarce version) . Total length 35 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots and lightly pitted areas on the blade. This sword comes with a newly made Indian style scabbard (not shown).
