A good RENTONG knife / dagger from Sumatra, mostly used by the Acehnese people from North West Sumatra (see Stone Glossary, fig. 106 number 4 page 85). The blade is 9 1/2 inches long down curving and single edged. The hilt is black horn lightly up-curving. Total length 15 inches. Good condition. Good patina on the blade with few minor pitted spots. Very good shining age patina on the handle. A crack in the handle base but holds solid. This items comes with its original scabbard, unfortunately broken and damaged (Not shown). A very nice piece from the second half of the 19th C attractive and decorative item. It is offered here at a very low price.
