The Flyssa is the traditional sword of the Kabil peoples from North Africa, residing in Algeir and North Morocco. It is characterized by the long tapering blade and brass decoration on the blade. Up for sale here is a very heavy version with a 25 1/2 inches long blade, more than 2 inches wide and with a 14 inches back edge. Beautiful brass inlay decoration on its entire length and on the spine. The grips of this exemplar are made of brass cover over steel and wood base. Total length 30 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the grip brass cover. No scabbard. A fine authentic and rare item.
