Up for sale is this fine Shamshir sword, Turkish origin, early to mid 19 C. Finely forged blade from Sham (Turkish wootz of low contrast pattern), 32 inches long. Finely carved, honey colored rhino horn grips with chiseled silver cross guard and chased silver grip strap. Wood scabbard with the original leather cover with spiral stitching seam, and finely chased silver fittings. Total length 38 inches. Very good plus condition. All parts original. Minor darken spots on the blade and a crack in the cross guard. Very little shrink of the scabbard leather. A fine complete piece.
