Up for sale is this very good kaskara sword, Sudan, mid tp late 19 C. The heavy blade is most probably of European origin, narrow but massive and heavy, 32 inches long with a 9 inches central fuller. The blade is marked with two small leaf shape marking just below the cross guard. Classical and well made steel cross guard, 6 inches long. The grip and pommel are bound with crocodile hide ( later). Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade. Minor shallow rust spots. No scabbard.
