Up for sale is this unusual large size Yataghan sword, with a massive blade, 29 inches long, forged from very fine Sham (Turkish / Syrian Wootz, Damascus) steel. Horn grips with gilded copper grip strap and bolsters. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. Minor chips the horn in the pommel "ears". No scabbard. The shell style of the bolster suggests a strong European influence. A fine sword.
