Very Good Persian Jambiya - 5712

This one is coming from our private collection: A superb, very good example of an 18th C. Persian Jambiya. The 9 inches curved blade is forged from excellent Persian wootz (Damascus) steel. The hilt is a solid piece of walrus cut entirely from the marble like inner sector of the ivory tusk and carved in the classical ‘I’ shape No scabbard. Very nice item in good plus condition. Only minor pitted areas on the blade. The lines on the hilt are very thin and minor cracks follows the natural borders of the ivory sectors. It is a result of the great age of this superb piece. Surprisingly low price for the quality..
