This fine short sword is coming from North India. It is in the style known as Khyber sword, but similar swords are found all over the region. The blade is 13 inches long with a pronounced T shaped spine, forged from fine high contrast Wootz .(Watered steel). The grips are made of elephant ivory. This sword comes on its original scabbard, covered with fabric and set with gilded copper locket and scabbard tip. Total length 20 inches. Very good condition. Minor ivory chip on the left grip. Stained scabbard fabric. The lighter color area on the blade is a result of heat treatment and there is no interference in the wootz pattern in this area.
