Up for sale is this fine “PIHA KAHETTA”, the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). Like the old classical examples it has a single edged short down curving heavy fullered blade, 8 inches long. The grips are beautifully carved from ivory with good age patina, set with chiseled and chased silver pommel cover. Total length is 12 inches. Very good condition. Very fine age patina on the blade with minor shallow pitted spots. A fine piece in good condition and very reasonable price.
