Up for sale is this very Early Yataghan sword, with the blade dated to (1)121 (the first 1 figure is usually omitted) which correspond to 1709 in the Gregorian calendar. The laminated blade is 22 inches long, signed and inlaid with silver ( true inlay) with Arabic letters. The handle is composed of short silver bolster, silver grip strap and finely carved elephant ivory grips. Original scabbard covered with colored velvet (worn) and with big chased silver locket and chape. Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. A very fine piece.
