This Yataghan sword has a fine blade, 21 inches long. Marked with a maker stamp. The handle is finely chased silver with relatively small ears. The scabbard is covered with stingray leather and mounted with silver locket, Silver carrying band and silver chape. Total length 26 inches. Good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade and old repairs on the handle with few minor dents on the silver. Lower scabbard seam open. The dimensions and construction of the scabbard may indicate a 19C. East European origin.
