Up for sale is this Turkish Shamshir saber, with a curved and fullered 32 inches blade, forged from good high carbon steel. The blade is marked with a maker mark (partially worn). Classical shape hilt with brass cross guard and grip strap and horn grips with ribbed pommel end. The grips lower end are bound with twisted brass wires ( later ). Wood scabbard with black leather cover and brass mounts with two carrying rings. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition. Repairs on the hilt and grips. The scabbard tip is lightly damaged and dented. The leather cover is recent. Very attractive price.
