This very fine piece is Turkish, early 19 C. with the finest silver work on the scabbard. The kard blade is 9 1/2 inches long, forged from fine Turkish wootz and inlaid with gold koftgari work on the bolster. The handle is jade of good quality, finely carved and polished and set with a green stone at the pommel end. The silver scabbard shows the Turkish decoration style of its best: Fine filigree work set with colorful Turquoise and Coral stones. Total length 15 inches. Next to perfect condition, as fine as it can get.
