Many Persian style weapons were copied and used in Sudanese Africa in the 19 C. Mostly of inferior quality compared to the original Persian weapons. We offer here for sell such an Axe, copy of a Persian one, but of a far better quality than most of the similar items on the market. The main blade is 8 1/1 inches long, 4 1/2 inches wide and the back blade is 2 1/2 inches long. Both decorated with gold and silver koftgari work. The axe head is mounted on a wood haft with a lower, spear shaped blade, 5 1/2 inches long. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. A very unusual and interesting item.
