This Qama is coming from Georgia. The heavy blade with the off-set central fullers is 15 inches long, elaborately decorated with gold koftgari work. The grips are horn. The scabbard is wood, covered with black leather and mounted with big silver locket and chape, beautifully adorned with chasing and niello decoration. The locket is dated in Arabic figures to 1328 (1910 in the Gregorian calendar) and 1981 (or 1861 if read upside down), neither will fit the original Arabic date neither the sword style. Total length 23 inches. Very good condition. Scabbard leather is recent.
