Persian Ceremonial Axe, Qajar Period - 8584


This ceremonial ae is coming from Persia, late Qajar period, end of the 19 C. Mostly used in military parades. 10 inches long, 5 inches wide lunar shaped blade with a 5 inches hooked shaped back blade. Both blades are etched in a classical late 19 C. Persian style, human face and various animals on a background of Arabic inscriptions. 27 inches steel haft etched in a pattern imitating twisted steel. The haft is ending with a 4 1/2 inches long spike at the top. Good condition. Very Attractive price.
