Up for sale is this very unusual Indian helmet, probably late 18 C. The steel dome is 4 inches tall ending with gold decorated rosette and a 1 inch spike. A steel strip with gold inlay, probably taken from an earlier helmet is riveted all around the rim. The nasal protector is held in position with a small hook ( and not with a small screw as common in later helmets) and is all inlaid with gold koftgari work. Very good condition. The feather holders and nasal protector bridge are restored. Very attractive price.
