Up for sale is this 19 C. Turkish Shamshir sword. The blade is light, 30 1/2 inches long, with shallow fuller. The grips are cut from Rhino horn with a nicely engraved white metal cross guard.. The scabbard is covered with its original black leather stitched with the classical spiral stitching. The scabbard fittings are silver, all marked with a silver proof mark and the period Tugrha of the ruling sultan. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. Minor damages and repairs to the scabbard fittings. Small cracks and tears on the leather.
