Fine Small Sacrificial Kora Sword with Original Carrying Box - 8446

A fine and real sacrificial Kora short sword Circa 1950, used to behead small animals and birds for sacrificial purposes. The heavy blade is 12 inches long, deadly sharp. The handles is horn. This Kora comes in its original carrying box, cushioned with red velvet, locked with small silver hooks on silver chains and set with finely chased and pierced silver mounts. Total length 17 1/2 inches. Next to mint condition. It is interesting to note the two crossed gold Khukuri shapes on the locket, indicating the Nepalese origin of this item and possibly indicate that this item is a real presentation piece. |
