Up for sale is this fine and rather long Kard knife, Persian origin, late 18 to early 19 C. Fine blade, 12 inches long forged from wootz steel ( Damascus) of high quality and high contrast. The grips are walrus ivory and the grip strap as well as the bolster are richly decorated with inscription with Arabic letters. Leather scabbard. Total length18 inches. Very good condition. Rust spot on the grip strap. The scabbard is later to the knife., probably early 20 C. and its bottom seam is partially open. A fine piece.
