A rare find: A complete authentic sword of the karo Batak people from Sumatra, also known as Piso Halasan . Heavy blade, 19 inches long and more than ½ inch thick at its base. Most probably of laminated steel. Stag horn handle with brass collar. Wood scabbard with sharply up-rising tip bound with brass bands. Total length 30 inches. Very good condition. Two brass band of the scabbard are missing. A rare sword.
