We offer for sale this very good Turkish Shamshir sword, probably mid 19 C. Good wootz ( Damascus) blade, 31 inches long. Horn grips with silver cross guard. Silver mounted scabbard. All silver part are marked with the Tughra, the royal proof mark of the Sultan in reign. 39 inches total length. Very good condition. The blade could enjoy a polish and etch which will bring out the wootz pattern. Minor chips on the horn grips. Dents on the lower part of the silver chape.
