Womens Working Knife, Thailand, Very Unusual - 5821

This is an interesting and gracefully shaped knife from Thailand. Such knives are used by Thai women to split the Rattan strips from the cane, and the long round handle is used to support it on the women stomach. The blade is of good steel and good workmanship, 6 ½ inches long, more than ¼ inches wide and slightly hollow ground cross section. The long curved hilt is cut from a black Buffalo horn, mounted on the blade tang and bound with a twisted brass wire. Very good plus condition. Although basically it is a working knife, it is well made and can easily be used as a weapon for self-protection. By all means an unusual item of interest.
