A rare find: A complete authentic sword of the karo Batak people from Sumatra, also known as Piso Halasan . Heavy blade, 22 inches long and almost ¾ inch thick at its base. Most probably of laminated steel. Deer horn handle with brass fittings and brass covered scabbard with up-rising tip. The scabbard comes with the original heavy brass carrying chain .
