The Pedang Lurus is an Indonesian short sword, common in Java but can be found also in other Indonesian islands. This one is one of quality highly decorated and probably belonged to a high ranking person. The blade is 21 slightly down curving tip and with 10 inches back edge. It is forged from good pamor steel. The hilt is worked in heavy silver in an elaborate floral design, showing a Mythological monster face. The scabbard is wood covered with silver sheet chased in a very intricate design. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. Minor edge nicks and minor damage to the silver cross guard. Very Fine item, dated probably to the second half of the 19 C all original pieces.
